Dallas opened our eyes to the bigger picture. How our decisions reach and affect others far beyond ourselves. I will never forget this presentation, and will consciously have the message in the back of my mind with everything I do moving forward - particularly when faced with a decision.
-
Dallas speaks from raw emotion- there is nothing more powerful.
-
I believe BHP are trending in the right direction with our safety and attitude toward safety. I know that there are procedures and rules in place to keep me safe- it is just a matter of every single person in the workplace respecting this and understanding their decisions affect every person that comes after them.
-
Thanks a million. I hope you can speak to as many people all over the world as possible!

Thank you for what you are doing. I've been mining underground for 15 years, and your presentation is the best by far that I have ever seen. Also, it made people stop and think. It had a massive impact on my crew.

I think stories like yours are out there enough to be shared more. As a coach/leader, I re-iterate that we can always catch up production, but never on safety. So as much as we are trying to be urgent, those simple things that you highlighted your father noted down are part of my mantra as well:
- Stick to the Rules (don't break them, but do challenge them for improvement)
- Discipline (set that rhythm)
- (Culture of) Care for workmates
- Positive Attitude; Stay safe.
-
The challenge is to connect with people in delivering this message & getting them on the journey. You've done that very well & your family's loss (of your brother & father) has therefore not been in vain. It will save others' lives.

Dallas, thanks for your time today. I am grateful to have listened to your story & trust it will help us make this tremendous underground industry of ours safer.
-
I feel the same, but I am so glad that you presented it like you did because it is what they all needed to hear. With the reality and emotion that is part of your presentation, it meant so much more than any of us could ever pass on.
-
You said that you weren't a public speaker. You are and extraordinarily. You are real. Don't change a thing and never let anyone put a time limit on it.
-
There is a new system being implemented here now that will give the workers a real "voice". Presentations like yours will help bring those who want change, out of the shadows. We continually tell everyone that there is no pressure, but you know that is not the case. Pride and a need to achieve good results is a development hallmark, so we have to instil in everyone, by going back to your message, to do it right.

I had an incident at work, and it has changed the way I felt about it. I also will be a lot more aware and make sure I am putting safety before 'getting a job done fast'. Actually Amazing.
-
I would like for safety taken more seriously and for us to not feel like we are going to get into trouble for not getting a job done.
-
Yes, it has reinforced about becoming complacent in the work we do every day.
-
I thought it was great. I have worked on a crew where we lost a team member while on shift. I have also worked on an opposite crew where they have lost a team member on shift. It bought back a lot of feelings for me.

Your presentation had a significant impact on my crew, and it has changed the way they think. I have now shared my personal experiences with the crew.
