My Humble Beginnings
Dallas Adams began his career in Western Australia as an underground miner 28 years ago, working alongside his late father, Jimmy Adams. After six years in mining and a two-year stint overseas, Dallas and his wife, Jess, moved to Sydney, NSW, in 2003. There, he transitioned into underground construction (tunnelling) before relocating to Brisbane, QLD, to start an electrical trade.
After losing both his brother and father in tragic workplace accidents, Dallas was determined to ensure others never endure the same pain. In 2017, he founded DC Adams Group - Why Safety Matters. Since then, he has travelled domestically and internationally, delivering raw and emotional presentations about the devastating impact workplace accidents have on families, friends, and colleagues.
With his extensive industry experience, Dallas shares the heartbreaking stories of his brother, who died in a mining accident in 2004, and his father, who was struck by a pressurized water pipe while maintaining a water treatment plant on a major tunnelling project in Sydney in 2017. Though he recounts these tragedies with palpable pain, his intentions are clear: to emphasize the critical importance of safe work practices. By learning from these incidents, he believes the industry can create safer environments for all.
