2017 – The loss of his father, Jimmy.

In May 2017, Dallas’s father, Jimmy, was working on the Sydney NorthConnex tunnelling project when he was struck by components of a pressurised piping system. The uncontrolled release of stored energy caused chest injuries that later proved fatal in hospital. The incident was ultimately determined to be preventable, and two companies were fined over safety failures. For Dallas, losing both his brother and father to workplace accidents created not just grief, but a sense of injustice that would fuel his mission.
